YES I do think it fair for anyone, mum or not, to get a parking ticket for parking in a disabled space (Post Nov 5).

The mum says her teenage sister was with her. Couldn't she have watched the children for a couple of minutes allowing mum to run to cashpoint?

Then a disabled person wouldn't have to walk much further than they needed to.

“I think we need to differentiate between 'parking' which implies an extended stay of more than a couple of minutes, and merely stopping to carry out some task. The most inconsiderate parkers in my experience are disabled people, they seem to have the idea that a piece of blue cardboard somehow shrinks the size of their vehicle.”

“I totally agree that these selfish people need to be fined heavily , but I can't help thinking that these people get the idea that it's ok park on pavements, bus stops, double yellows, pedestrian crossings, junctions, disabled bays etc etc because in a lot of places parking regulations are never enforced, it's about time we had dozens more traffic wardens on our streets, I live in neath and there are some areas where they are desperately needed.”
