Mum allegedly kept son from authorities
A MUM has appeared in court after allegedly keeping her son away from the responsible authority.
Emma Brock, aged 32, of Heol Maes yr Gelynen, in Morriston, denies a charge keeping her son away from the authorities.
Brock pleaded not guilty to knowingly, and without a lawful authority or reasonable excuse, keeping her son away from the responsible person.
That is an offence under the 1989 Children’s Act.
Brock appeared from custody for the hearing at Swansea Magistrates’ Court.
The charge relates to her 10-year-old son who the Crown Prosecution Service say should have been in the care of social services for three days when he was missing last week.
Brock was given conditional bail ahead of her trial.
She was made subject to a curfew condition, she will have to report daily at Morriston police station, not to contact her son and not to leave the City and County of Swansea.
A trial was set to take place in front of magistrates on September 18.
