MOTORISTS driving on one of Swansea's busiest roads face more traffic misery this week.

Gas company Wales & West Utilities will close one lane of Oystermouth Road to carry out emergency maintenance.

Starting today and expected to last until Friday, 200 metres of the outside lane will be closed near the Tudor Court Hotel. A spokesman from Wales & West Utilities said: "The work, which the company anticipates will be completed by the end of the week, will involve excavating part of the road. However no gas supplies will be affected."

It will be closed for 200 metres from The Tudor Court Hotel towards the city centre while the work is carried out.

He added: "Motorists travelling along Oystermouth Road are likely to experience some delays during this period, however, we would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and assure people that we will complete the work as quickly as possible."
