Motorist rescued from car in flooding as firefighters receive hundreds of calls overnight
A MOTORIST was rescued from a car on Gower by firefighters after getting stuck in flood water last night (25/1/13).
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service received hundreds of calls from 7pm last night until 3am this morning (26/1/13) regarding flooding across South West Wales.
Crews were called at 8.19pm last night to a car which was stuck in flood water on the main road in Penclawdd.
Firefighters from Sketty attended the incident and removed the vehicle from the flood water using a winch.

A spokesman for the service said: "The car was winched to safety.
"We have had a huge amount of calls relating to flooding overnight."
Flooding in Swansea also lead to motorists taking evasive action at around 9pm last night.
One driver witnessed flooding at the bottom of Brynmill Lane where it meets Mumbles Road and said: "People were unable to get through the flood water.
"People were trying to turn right off Mumbles Road into Brynmill Road.
"Drivers were stopping and reversing on the main carriageway because they couldn't get through the flood water.
"I have never seen that before."
