Morten Wieghorst relishing role as Michael Laudrup's assistant at Swansea City
MICHAEL Laudrup's new assistant Morten Wieghorst says he had no hesitation in leaving his role as a manager to become the No. 2 at Swansea City.
Wieghorst was in charge of Denmark's Under-21 side for almost two years before moving to the Liberty, and he can also boast of a further five years' experience as the boss of Champions League side Nordsjaelland.

And although the former Celtic midfielder admitted it was difficult to leave his post in Denmark, he is relishing the prospect of coaching with the Swans.
"When Michael called there was no hesitation from me," he said.

You are absolutely right! But I said defensive as a PLAYER, but with a liking for the possession style football that he also was playing as captain in Brondby under Michael Laudrup. His positions were Defensive midfielder, central defense and center midfield. He was big and strong and never afraid to get into a clinch with the opponent. You have never seen Laudrup do that. He on the other hand is a master in avoiding any form of contact with his well timed moves. His trademark feint is the "crofters feint" were he waits for the defender to make his move and then plays one-two with himself to get around the opposing player. I think mr. Wieghorst is right for the job, and Swansea is lucky to get their hands on him. But i'm sure he is also grateful to get the chance to be a part of a premier league manager team.”

“Looks like he's being lined up as the new manager for when Laudrup leaves at the end of this season or next season. Could be a good choice. And he'll have experience of the Swansea system when he becomes manager.”
