Mixed reaction to naked rugby players stunt
A PRANK by six rugby players pictured running naked through Mumbles has drawn a mixed reaction on this website and on social network sites.
The photo, believed to be a rugby initiation ceremony, was posted on Twitter by Mumbles RFC - @Mumbles_RFC.
The picture was immediately retweeted by a number of other people.
Pate10, commenting on this website, thought it was funny.
“I have seen this happen a few times. It's hysterical. I was in the White Rose in mumbles last Summer when the boys ran past. A few old ladies in the pub said it made their day.”
But tawse57 disagreed, saying: “It is not wonderful. It is not brilliant. People working, living in and visiting the area do not need to see this.”
Sniper said: “Brilliant good laugh. Good on you boys!!!
MaggieMort thought no harm was done.
“Well, at least they have their socks on! I think it is hilarious - please allow grown up boys to be boys! I’m only sorry that I missed it all. How on earth can anyone link pornography to this? It must have been quite funny to see these grown men ‘flopping about’.”
But Theparcel thought it was typical of rugby players who they said were “a law unto themselves!”
“They will do anything to gain notoriety.
They have no shame or inibitions, common sense goes out the window when they get together!
“It’s much the same on the pitch, they will do anything to win! Pathetic show of exhibitionism!”
So far there has been no response from Mumbles RFC on their Twitter feed, although they do appear to have deleted the original tweet with the photo on
They originally posted the picture with the comment: “Senior initiations #blueblood”
On Facebook Joanne Evans described it as “harmless fun”.
“Kids have willies as well mind!!! If I'd have seen it I'd have laughed! Much worse going on in the world than a few bare bums!,” she said.
Caroline McGready said: “Agree with Joanne Evans, only a bit of skin on show mun, it's a laugh.”
