Missing Ferrie returns for talks
FERRIE Bodde was back in Swansea and poised for crunch talks with Paulo Sousa last night — as Bolton prepared another bid for the playmaker.
The Dutch midfielder was originally due to meet his new boss on Monday, but chose to remain in Holland and miss the start of pre-season training.
-

That came after Swansea rejected a £2.5m approach from Bolton for the 27-year-old, blocking his path to the Premier League.
Swansea's Portuguese boss, who had still to meet the player, branded his absence disrespectful, while Bodde's representatives hit back claiming Swansea were "ridiculous" to place a £5m valuation on his head.
Bodde has since tried to defuse the situation by suggesting there had been a misunderstanding and that he was always supposed to stay in Holland — where he had been receiving treatment — until yesterday.
Chairman Huw Jenkins also attempted to calm the storm, eager to avoid a repeat of last summer when Swansea's tug-of-war with Derby over Bodde dominated the back pages and disrupted pre-season preparations.

“I was ashamed that llanellis first team could only beat motherwell youth side 1 nil.
This is a forum for discussing a proper football side who play in a proper league and in a proper stadium.
Not some pub side from down west in a micky mouse set up and a ground that wouldn;t look out of place in a lego set.
We have 3 quality youngsters at the club in mcdonald ,allen and evans.
Give these boys a game, plus cardiff have signed a gem from swansea in young matthews.
Why are these boys not getting signed up by the swans or if they are signed why don't they play?
The last swansea side to make the top divison was based on local talent
charles,stevenson,james (rip) and l james
People need to remeber that or if they are jonny come latelys read up on the history of the swans”

“I think we are making too many comments based on soundbites from differing sources, at the end of the day if he stays he plays. If he plays it is in his interest to play well, whatever his intention and I`m sure he will, judging by last season. I`m looking forward to seeing the first friendly at the Liberty this month.”

“I thought Bodde had been fined 2 weeks wages. Currently my feeling is I would trust HJ over Bodde. Bodde has shown disrespect and it's not the first time - I do think he has to learn that professionalism is a state of mind, an attitude, it's not about getting paid. My feeling is we won't get £5M for him given he was out for the last half of the season, but it seems that his head will always be turned by his agent and potential offers so his commitment is questionnable. Personally, I wouldn't like some suggest let him rot in the reserves or the stand as that will lessen his value to other clubs due to lack of game time and looking like a troublemaker - I'd tell him he's the lynchpin in our midfield and to work as hard as he can to play us into the play-off places and if he does and the right offer comes in he can go in January. That way he gets the move he wants, and the club gets more money and a chance at promotion. Just a thought - as we all know he could play in the Premiership.”

“Bolton signed Sean Davis yesterday and are said to be in the running for Joey Barton. Where would Bodde fit in there? As I've said before the Burnley and Bolton stories are smoke screens for the smiling assassin - you know who.”

“We as fans are never going to find out if PS was right or if Bodde had permission Steve.
The point i am making is that Bodde lost all respect for HJ this time last year when Derby was in for him,is he going the same way now that Bolton are interested.HJ doesnt need to go through all this straight after RM has left so i can see why he is doing it but as i stated earlier one of the parties is not telling the truth so rather than roll a snowball down a hill HJ should either fine Bodde or admit he was wrong himself.”

“Swans could always sell Bodde for £2.5 million because of his injury, with a clause saying they get first £2.5 million of any resale over £2.5 million. That way they'll get £5 million if he turns out to be good and £2.5 million if his injury holds him back. There are numerous ways to structure the deal without having all the money up front. Or maybe extra money based on appearances.
neal, JJ is trying to calm the storm because it doesn't make any sense for this to be discussed in the press. It doesn't matter who is right or wrong, it should be discussed between player and club. However, it was the club (via Sousa) who started the storm.”
