Missed chances prove costly for Ammanford
AMMANFORD AFC dropped four places to eighth in division of the MacWhirter Welsh Football League as a result of their 2-0 home defeat by Newport YMCA.
It was only Ammanford's second loss of the season.
Ammanford began attacking strongly against a side who, before the game, were only one point adrift of them in the table.
Owen James and Matthew Fisher created a chance apiece, with the YMCA keeper making a superb block.

Home keeper Jamie Rano was then called into action, but made his save look very comfortable.
The first half ended in goalless, with Ammanford repeatedly causing panic in the YMCA defence.
Ammanford produced two major chances with 20 minutes left.
Firstly Matthew Fisher was put through and drew the YMCA keeper off his line, but his shot flew just wide of the goal.
And Fisher saw the same happen shortly after when put through.
These two misses and the inability to finish off earlier chances cost Ammanford dearly, when YMCA's Nicky Potts put his side ahead when he scored on the counter-attack.
Ollie Beck ensured YMCA captured the three points with a quality goal, cleverly lobbing Rano from a very acute angle.
Ammanford AFC are home to Caerau this Saturday, kicking off at 2.30pm.
