IT is with dismay that I read yet another misleading advert from Unison in the Welsh press. The union paid for adverts in media criticising "the Government's plans" on the involvement of private firms in healthcare.

A valid debate — in England.

The UK Government's approach to health has absolutely nothing to do with Wales. Whatsoever.

Health is a devolved issue and it is a fact that the Welsh Government is cutting our NHS budget by almost half a billion pounds.

I wonder if Unison's members are aware their money is being used to mislead the public? I urge the union to rethink its next spending spree and make reference to the toughest NHS funding settlement — in Wales.

“This missing 'half a billion pounds' - wasn't it taken away from the Welsh budget by the same tories that this 'er Darren Millar represents?”
