Miquie's joy at netball call-up
SWANSEA Valley schoolgirl Miquie Walker-Jones took part in a weekend packed full of netball as part of the Wales Under-15 national netball squad half-term training camp.
Miquie, 13, who attends Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera, attended the training camp at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff and started with a fitness session.
Following this the team took an umpiring test to improve the girls' understanding of the game, and the day finished with a skills session.
On the Saturday the team started with some fitness and team games in the park, then retreated inside for a physio session.

Later on in the day the team had a tough match against Team Bath Under-16s, where the Welsh girls came out with a 37-34 win.
The night then continued with the girls watching Super League team Celtic Dragons defeat Team Northumbria 61-31.
The Wales Under-15 squad have had a very good season. They have played five games in the South West England Regional Under-16 League and lost only one.
They are currently third in the league, and with two games left there is still plenty to play for.
Miquie said: "The weekend has been a great experience for myself.
"Although tiring, it was really worth it in the end."
