First Minister welcomes new Permanent Secretary
A NEW Permanent Secretary for the Welsh Government has been appointed, it has been announced by the Cabinet Office.
Derek Jones has been selected for the role following the retirement of Dame Gill Morgan at the end of August.
The announcement was made by the Head of the UK Civil Service, Sir Bob Kerslake, with the agreement of the First Minister Carwyn Jones.
The First Minister said: "I am very pleased that Derek Jones has been appointed Permanent Secretary to the Welsh Government.
