Minister's GCSE papers re-grading demand
EDUCATION minister Leighton Andrews has called on examination provider WJEC to re-grade this year's English Language GCSE papers.
The Welsh Government Minister for Education and Skills instructed officials to undertake an urgent investigation after concerns about this year's GCSE English Language results and the regulatory and awarding decisions which determined them.
The report of that review was published yesterday and recommended WJEC should be requested to regrade this year's English Language GCSEs.
Mr Andrews said: "After careful consideration the report leads me to believe that the apparent injustice which has been served to hundreds of Welsh learners needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency."

“Great news, how can it be right to change the goalposts half way through. England should also follow our lead, i don't think they will. Although saying that it's in the nature of the London government to do U turns, it just comes natural to them”
