Millennium Stadium announcer in critical condition after pub assault
A Swansea Valley actor known as "the voice of the Millennium Stadium" is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering serious head injuries in an assault outside a Cardiff pub.
Rhys ap William was knocked to the floor and left unconscious outside the Admiral Napier pub in Canton in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Mr Williams, who played Cai Rossiter in Welsh language soap Pobol y Cwm, is the announcer for Wales's home rugby games at the Millennium.Police say the 37-year-old — originally from Cwmllynfell — is in a critical but stable condition in University Hospital of Wales, and they are appealing for anybody with information about the assault to come forward.

A South Wales Police spokesman said: "Police are seeking to identify the person responsible for a serious assault that took place outside the Admiral Napier public house in Cowbridge Road East, Canton, around 12.15am on Sunday.
"The victim, a 37 year old local man was knocked to the floor and left unconscious. He was conveyed to hospital where he remains in a critical, but stable condition.
"The attack appears to have been caught on CCTV, and it is clear there were witnesses present who saw exactly what happened.
"Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, or has information to identify the attacker to contact them."
