Michel Vorm 'is close to signing'
MICHAEL Laudrup hopes rumours linking Michel Vorm with a move away from Swansea City will stop when the goalkeeper pens a new contract.
Vorm's current Swansea deal is due to expire at the end of next season and there has been speculation that Brendan Rodgers wants him at Liverpool.
But the Dutch international star is expected to sign a new agreement at some point next week which will keep him at Swansea for at least three more years.
"I haven't seen the piece of paper, but from what I have heard Michel is close to signing," Laudrup said.

"It's important for the club that such an important player who is already here signs a new contract because it's a boost for everybody.
"It can stop some of the rumours that always start when a contract is running down.
"Even though we are outside the transfer window there will be the rumours about players, especially if you are going into the last year of your contract.
"It's also important that the club show the players that their performances over the last couple of years have been recognised.
"Michel is a very good goalkeeper for us with a lot of quality — he has already shown that with his performances and the fact he is Holland's No. 2. We are very happy with him."
Swansea are also close to agreeing a new long-term deal with left-back Neil Taylor.
And the club are optimistic that Ashley Williams will soon extend his current agreement even though the central defender has said he is no rush to put pen to paper.
"I don't know exactly how close Ashley is to signing, but you know the names of the players we are working on," Laudrup added.
