Michael Laudrup has won respect at Swansea City
ASHLEY Williams admits Michael Laudrup has won instant respect from Swansea City's players as the new man bids to lift the cloud left by the loss of Brendan Rodgers.
Williams has conceded the departure of Rodgers to Liverpool this summer has been "tough" to stomach.

But Swansea's central defensive rock says the appointment of Laudrup has made the club's players sit up and take notice.
"The first impressions of the new manager have been good," Williams said.

"He's a legend in world football — you only have to look at his Wikipedia page to see that!
"He's addressed the lads and he's obviously got our respect straightaway. Training was good and everybody's enjoyed it.
"He's said a few words and he obviously knows what he's talking about so early impressions are good.
"The past two years were so enjoyable. I'm sure everyone has their opinions of Brendan Rodgers but ask anyone here and they will tell you how much they enjoyed working with him, and they are two of my favourite years in my career so it's obviously tough that he's gone.
"But that's life and that's football and you have to get on with it.
"Appointing someone like Michael Laudrup got our respect straightaway and we're happy to listen to him."

“Here I go, I'm sticking my neck out I think the Swans will finish in the top nine. No doubt someone on here will call me an idiot , who cares.”

“For the purists amongst you , just been told it's Hara-Kiri - Ritual disembowelling or something! I guess it's all the same - I'd be gutted if the Swans went down!! It wont happen!!”

“Amazed at these comments (well not all - only the negative ones). Brendan came here as a relative unknown, never had the chance to play , failed as a manager (sacked by Reading) yet we embraced him, gave him a chance and then admired him, loved him to bits and were gutted by his departure. Now we have a top man - did it as player, shows he has a brain by walking away from some 'iffy' clubs and is welcomed by our top notch players. What more do you 'moaners' want - blood!! I've got great optimism for the season! The Swans will survive - even go from strength to strength - if not daiswan will commit 'harikari' and will never be heard of again. Who are we!!!”

“Well said Cybil. What a list of ex players who went on to be great managers.
All, give ML a fair crack before the season even starts. I ,for one, believe he will be outstanding as a manager as he was a player. One of the very best. He and his family will settle in Swansea as they have already said. Top appointment HJ.”
