Memories of cinema dates
WITH reference to G J Lloyd's letter about the Tower Cinema (Have Your Say, January 26). He is quite right the cinema was near the water works, in fact I believe it was called the Tower because of the water works tower.
Incidentally, the photo of the Tower Cinema was taken by my father Thomas Headdon Madge, Mount Pleasant post master, on the opening night of the cinema.
My wife and I can vividly recall the tuppenny rush every Saturday morning — happy days.
