Meeting looks to the future
THE Farmers Union of Wales will be holding its autumn conference on November 15 at Aberystwyth Arts Centre Cinema.
The title of the event will be Future Harvests: sowing the seeds for the next decade.
With the industry facing a range of significant challenges and changes over the coming decade, the conference will provide an opportunity to learn about the developing relationship between science and agriculture.
It will also look at the changes in rural development and how the bargaining powers of farmers can be developed over the coming years, toge- ther with looking at the challenges facing the farming community.

Farmers from across mid and west Wales are expected to attend the one-day event.
Organisers said the conference will start at 10am and finish at 3pm.
Guests are invited to have coffee and tea from 9am and a buffet lunch will be served from noon to 1pm.
