Some of the stolen medals
There is no description at this stage of the First World War medals, but it is believed that engraved on the rear is the name F. A. BUTCHER.
The Second World War medals comprise of the Star, Africa Star, Defence medal, and War medal.
Amongst the other items stolen were a Sekonda wrist watch, a jewellery box and an amount of cash.
Detective Constable Sam Stanway said: "The medals have no extreme financial value, but most certainly are of huge sentimental value to the 81-year-old lady from whom they were stolen as they were awarded to her late husband and his father, during the First and Second World wars"
"I would appeal to anyone who is in possession of the medals, whoever they may be, not to do anything untoward with them, but to contact the police so that the medals can be retrieved in tact."
"Although still greatly upset over the burglary, to have the medals returned would mean a great deal to the owner."
"I would urge anyone; either with information as to the location of the medals or the burglary to come forward"
Anyone with information should contact Morriston CID on 01792 614350 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
