Matthew Stevens loses to Mark Williams in Masters
MATTHEW Stevens fell to a dramatic 6-4 to Mark Williams in the first round of the Masters.
Leading 4-1 and with a regulation brown to seal the sixth frame, it appeared that Carmarthen star Stevens was on the verge of his first Masters quarter-final since he won the title back in 2000.
But Stevens somehow contrived to miss the brown and let Williams back to the table.
Williams pounced on the opportunity to turn the game on its head, reeling off five frames on the spin for a 6-4 win.

"I have to try to laugh because otherwise I will probably cry," said Stevens.
"I'm so disappointed with that result, but it just shows you what a funny game it is. Everything can turn on one ball."
