SWANSEA Masonic Almoners Committee (SMAC) have made their annual presentation to local charities.

This year Treat Trust, which is developing a £10 million therapy centre in the grounds of Morriston Hospital, received £500 from SMAC, along with a further £500 from the Beaufort Lodge of Swansea.

Melanie Davies of Treat Trust attended the presentation along with her husband Mike and took along the torch she carried in the Olympic relay.

Spokesman Roger Gale said: "Swansea Freemasons are proud that they are contributing in no small measure to this worthwhile cause and indeed others."
