"I'm Danish and live in Gran Canaria.

I've never been a massive footie fan. But to be with the in crowd as child I had to be a fan of some team. I liked the sound of the word Mancester United, so that was it. Not very popular, as most Danish, including my father, at the time supported either Liverpool or Leeds.

Now it's a bit 50/50 between Man. U. and Liverpool.

As I have grown older, football have moved on. Nowadays it has become more of a money game. You create a team "if you have got the money" by buying high profile players. And the more you've got, the stronger the team. And less competition. So I got a bit bored of Man. U. And Fergies attitude (he has calmed down, for the better).

I've always liked Keegan. So when he took on Man. C. I thought it was time to move my loyalty. It didn't last long though. They where all of a sudden in same category, (one player can cost as much as another clubs whole team).

I didn't really know what or where Swansea was before "the big dane" Jan Mølby took on the team as a manager. He didn't do fantastic. But I have always kept an eye in that direction since then.

I ran into a girl (Sarah - http://tinyurl.com/bjatlzf) from St. Thomas 15 years ago. On my first visit to the house, I was introduced to our separate bed bedroom. And there was an old clipping from the local paper, framed on the wall, alongside two of my futures nephews, on each side of Mølby himself. Nearly got married there and then!

Since then I have slowly grown into a bit of a Swansea fan.

There's a new Dane as a manager now. I've always had loads of respect Michael Laudrup as a player. He has always been a bit of a football gentleman. He never had time to fall over when tackled to gain a free kick. He always carried on with the game, and it often ended with a goal.

He didn't start the playing style the Swans are playing now. But he definately took it to a higher level.

Fantastic football. and it hasn't cost a lot of money. It's all about management and teamwork.

Long story, but...

Yesterday I spotted a Norwegian 10 year old boy, with a Swansea top (P. Hernandez on the back). I asked him why. And he answered, "I got bored of Mancester United, they're allways winning, because they've got money. And Swansea plays really entertaining football."

Good luck today, wish I was there.

Tom Dinesen"
