Man wielded knife in street
A MAN who took a knife from his mother’s kitchen into the street had committed an almost identical offence just months before.
Anthony Mark Davies, aged 23, of Llanerch Crescent in Gorseinon, had appeared in court in February this year after grabbing two kitchen knives and telling his mother to “shut up or I’ll slice your throat”. She called police after being too scared to leave the address. After that, a restraining order was put in place to stop him contacting his mother but in July he was convicted again of possessing a knife and breaching that restraining order.
At his latest sentencing, Swansea Crown Court heard his mother had let him to go to her house but he again took a knife and his mother left the house and waited for police to arrive.
When they did, officers were concerned by Davies’s behaviour and backed away. At one point, he held the knife to his throat and then shouted threats at watching neighbours.
Recorder David Miller told him it was a “dangerous situation” and imposed a two year community order including curfew.
