Man saved from blaze
A MAN had to be rescued from his burning Port Talbot home over the weekend.
Firefighters came to his rescue after the blaze broke out at the property on Dyffryn Road in Taibach on Saturday morning at 5.20am.
A fire service spokeswoman said: "There was a male rescued by the fire service from the property in Taibach, Port Talbot, and he was treated by paramedics on scene."
There were two crews from Port Talbot called to the property and they took 40 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
Taibach Councillor Anthony Taylor said the man was lucky to escape the blaze without serious injury.
He said: "Thankfully the man does not have any injuries.
"I am sure the neighbours were concerned as I'm struggling to remember the last house fire."
An ambulance spokeswoman confirmed paramedics were called.
She said: "We did attend but no-one was conveyed to hospital."
