Man robbed after withdrawing cash from machine
A MAN was attacked and robbed after he got money from a cashpoint in Brynhyfryd.
The 26-year-old had just withdrawn cash from the ATM machine at the Co-op in Llangyfelach Road, Brynhyfryd, at 8.40am yesterday.
He was walking towards a telephone kiosk on Brynhyfryd Cross when two men pushed him against the kiosk, grabbed the money, together with a bank card, and ran off across some waste ground in the general direction of Penlan.
Detective Inspector Simon Davies said "This attack happened in broad daylight and on a road which would have been very busy at this time of day with traffic commuting to and from the city centre, together with parents taking their children to a nearby school, some of whom would have to pass the cash point machine.
"I am appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity and saw the attack or the suspects, to come forward."
The suspects are described as male and both aged in their late 20s to early 30s. One was wearing a black Adidas tracksuit, while the second wore a cream-coloured track suit.
The victim was unharmed during the attack.
Anyone who saw what happened or has any relevant information is asked to contact the CID at Morriston Police Station on 01792 614350 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555111.

“Stop getting things out of proportion. 99.9999% of people were NOT mugged in Swansea yesterday NOR will they be mugged tomorrow. Yes it's an unpleasant crime but the fact remains it is an isolated incident. Wales also has one of the lowest rates of violent crime in the EU.”

“Yes Graham your so right it is getting worse but even if the lowlife that did this was to be brought before the courts the punishment would more than likely be a slap on the wrist & a £20 fine which would never be paid! I hope the young man that encountered this scum does not let it effect his life, it will be ending up that we are looking at everyone judging them just in case they try to attack us in some way! Something needs to be done to deter things like this from happening but what I don't know!”
