Man enters no plea over attack on Tonna Mosque
A MAN has appeared in court charged with racially aggravated criminal damage on a Neath mosque.
Steven John Desmond Davies, of Heol y Graig, Tonna, entered no pleas to three charges at Swansea Magistrates' Court today.
He is accused of damaging a double glazed window at Tonna mosque on St Anne's Terrace in the early hours of Friday, September 13.
Davies, 21, is also charged with assault causing actual bodily harm on Melanie Thomas and a charge of common assault on Kevin Thomas.
Magistrates elected to send the case to Swansea Crown Court to be heard.
No application for bail was submitted and Davies was remanded in custody.
He will appear at Swansea Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, September 24.
The mosque was subject to a similar attack on August 10, but police have not yet charged anyone in connection with that incident.
