Man appears in court charged with murder of Charmaine Macmuiris
A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a Carmarthen mum, whose body was found on Christmas morning.
David Thomas O'Sullivan, 28, of Maes yr Ysgol, Carmarthen, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates' Court, and entered no plea to the murder of 37-year-old Charmaine Macmuiris between December 23 and Christmas Day.
He spoke only to confirm his name and address and was remanded in custody.
Magistrates told O'Sullivan he was entitled to a bail hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, December 31, but defence solicitor, Giles Hayes, indicated this would not be needed.
Prosecutor, Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, said: "This gentleman had been in a relationship with the deceased for a short period of two or three weeks."
Family members sat in the public gallery during the hearing.
O'Sullivan is due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on January 8.
