Male stripper arrested in ladies' night fracas
A MALE stripper has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a ladies night held in a sleepy Gwendraeth Valley village descended into chaos.
Five police cars rushed to Ponthenri's Baltic Inn and Restaurant after reports of an altercation between an entertainer and female guests during the event, which was attended by more than 150 women.
A 29-year-old man was arrested and bailed pending further inquiries, said Dyfed-Powys Police.
Viv Davies, owner of the venue, which hosts regular entertainment nights, including cabaret acts and tribute shows, said the incident was something they had never expected to happen.

"It is not something that happens all the time and it was really quite unusual, but it didn't actually spoil much," the 58-year-old said.
"Through an agency we booked a comedienne, breakdancers and a fantasy stripper and it was a good night — everybody enjoyed themselves.
"The male act actually came out from his changing room in the gents toilets and made his way to the stage while the comedienne (Just Debs) was still performing.
"He got on the stage and tried to start his performance, but the ladies were not very happy with him and started booing before everything happened."
Mr Davies, who has run the inn for seven years, said the incident was the first time the police had been called to the premises.
And he said it would not deter the venue from staging similar events in the future.
"It may have been an overreaction from the police, we only wanted the situation to be resolved — there were five police cars here," Mr Davies said.
"It was a fantastic night, that's the most important thing, and it will not put us off holding events like that in the future.
"We have even set a date for the next one — although I think we may steer away from firemen next time."
