Maintain our press freedom
THE freedom of the press that our country has had for 300 years, and that we have taken for granted all our lives, is in danger; the Government has plans to curtail it following the Leveson report which the government initiated; without it we would not know what Westminster, Cardiff, the local council, police and any other authorities were up to; neither would we know what the members were like.
There have been other countries in living memory that were like this, Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany to name two and some that still are, like North Korea.
If those in Government have their way we would no longer benefit from or enjoy reading newspapers. It would be like reading a party political newspaper from the local party in power telling us what a good job they were doing.
Please everybody think what can be done to stop this happening.
The party we like is not always in power and when it is we don't want to give it that much power.
I am going to write to my MP.
