Madness tribute Baggy Trousers set for The Metbar's ninth birthday bash
A LLANELLI music bar is celebrating its birthday this weekend.
The Metbar, on Station Road, turns nine this Saturday, September 28.
And owner Paul Brookfield hopes to celebrate the birthday "big style".
Mr Brookfield said: "On Saturday we have the superb Madness tribute band Baggy Trousers (left) playing on stage at 8pm. We'll have drinks promotions and all the staff will be in the Madness theme."
The Swansea ska stars will be playing such skank-tastic classics as One Step Beyond, Night Boat to Cairo, and the eponymous Baggy Trousers.
It will be the ideal chance to dig out that pork pie hat, or those Dr Martens for a fun night of music.
Although Baggy Trousers would no doubt say "don't watch that, watch this!" — this Saturday is just the start of weekend after weekend of live music at The Metbar. From 8pm until 10pm, every Saturday The Metbar will have live bands, including an Oasis tribute on November 2 and a tribute to all things mod on November 9.
Mr Brookfield added: "We will also have Live & Local, in conjunction with Cadno Music, which will promote a local band on the third Saturday of the month. We think this will offer a greater variety of music to the people."
He also wished to thank his loyal punters for their support over the last nine years. The Metbar is looking to meet everyone's music tastes.
Mr Brookfield said: "Let us know of any bands you would like to see — we are always on the lookout for new talent."
