MPs demand answers from energy bosses about energy prices and profitability
MPs have written to energy company bosses demanding clear answers to questions about prices and profits in the wake of their grilling this week.
The cross-party energy and climate change committee, which sought answers from "the big six" on Tuesday, has now requested the prices of wholesale energy, the cost of transporting it, plus green levies, for that last two financial years.
MPs have also asked for clear responses about profits and profit margins.
Four of the big six energy suppliers have raised bills by around nine per cent in recent weeks. Their argument about rising wholesale energy costs was challenged at Tuesday's committee hearing.
