MP wants alternative
CITY MP Geraint Davies has met with Ed Miliband to urge the Labour leader to set out a clear alternative to the coalition cuts.
The Labour MP for Swansea West met with Mr Miliband earlier this week.
He told the Post: "I met the Labour leader to encourage him to set out a clear alternative to the coalition cuts. It is clear that we can make savings over a long time period that will better protect peoples' jobs.
"In the new year there is a real danger that there will be a double whammy, with the VAT rise to 20 per cent and the jobs cuts, which could affect Swansea harder than other areas given that 40 per cent are employed by the public sector."
