LOVE will be in the air at a Llanelli school this morning as students celebrate Dydd Santes Dwynwen.

Youngsters at Coedcae school have been secretly posting cards and letters into a specially-designed postbox over the past few weeks as they learn about Wales's patron saint of love.

And today they will be anxiously awaiting deliveries around their classrooms, before the younger students enjoy a special disco. Head of Welsh, Karen Rees, said: "It is important that our pupils not only learn the Welsh language but also about its culture and traditions.

"The Welsh department celebrates St Dwynwen's Day annually. We sell Welsh cards which are posted in our Dwynwen letter box and delivered on January 25.

"We also hold a Disgo Dwynwen for year seven and eight pupils, which they really enjoy."
