Love Actually star Bill Nighy spotted in Llandeilo pub
HOLLYWOOD star Bill Nighy popped into a Llandeilo pub on Tuesday afternoon.
The Love Actually actor, whose latest film About Time is in cinemas now, called into the White Horse pub to ask if they were serving food.
Barman Jamie St John, 21, said he was stunned when the A-lister walked up to the bar in the Evan-Evans brewery-owned pub.
“He came in and asked if we did food,” he said.
“I said ‘I’m terribly sorry, but we don’t do food here’.
“He then asked if we were playing the Welsh football later, I said yes and he said he would be back later to watch it.
“He never came back.
“I was cheeky and asked for his autograph, he was a really nice guy.
“It’s a shame he didn’t come back.
“As he was leaving there was people running after him for his autograph so maybe they scared him away.
“It was really strange.
“When he walked in I knew it was Bill Nighy straight away and my face just dropped to the bar.
“I did not expect that at all.”
Mr Nighy, aged 63, was believed to have been staying in the Cawdor Hotel.
The Journal contacted the hotel but they would not comment on guests.
