AN ancient festival is to be revived in Loughor later this year.

The Mabsant Festival used to see villages celebrate their Saint's Day with events and entertainment, and plans are under way for such an event at the end of September, to mark the feast day of St Michael.

The Boating Club is proposing holding a shanty evening, and a family fun day will be held in Parc Williams featuring traditional games enjoyed during the 18th and 19th centuries, along with musical demonstrations from Mari Llwyd.
