Lorry fire on M4
MOTORISTS faced traffic hold-ups following a lorry fire on the M4 this morning.
The incident happened westbound between junctions 44 Llansamlet and 45 Ynysforgan at 6.38am.
Police had reports of a lorry’s tyres on fire on the hard shoulder and smoke blowing over the carriageway.
It led to speed restrictions of 50mph being imposed.
A fire service spokesman said: “The lorry was well alight, it was on the hard shoulder.
“We have two crews from Morriston there.
“There are no injuries.”
The road policing unit was called but the ambulance service were not in attendance.
Fire crews remain on scene.
