'Local food for local community'
A GWENDRAETH Valley village is celebrating the launch of its very own monthly produce market.
Working with food producers within the Pontyates area, Zero Carbon Future aims to provide "local food for local people".
It is hoped the market — piloted for the next six months on the third Saturday of the month between 10am and 2pm — will become a food hub which will serve the rural communities on the lower Gwendraeth Valley on a long-term basis.
Zero Carbon Future officer, Paul Thomas, said: "We are working with local food producers to provide fresh produce and locally produced meat, fish, cheese and other food stuffs.
