WELSH motorsport has seen the discovery of three young talents in recent times, and following on from their initial success the wider world of motor racing has recognised their abilities.

Pembrey racer Jann Mardenborough has continued a meteoric rise, following up his win in a Playstation competition and race entry in the Dubai 24 Hour race with Nissan by signing a contract to race the RJN Motorsport Nissan GT-RGT3 in the Blancpain European Endurance Championship 2012, the first round of which is at the Monza circuit in Italy in April. The team is also considering an attack on the British GT Championship.

Mardenborough will race alongside such stars as Le Mans 24 Hour winner David Brabham and Mark Blundell.

Former kart racer Matthew Parry is a hot tip to sign for Fortec Racing and contest the 2012 Intersteps Championship driving a Myegale racing car with slick racing tyres and aerodynamic wings as seen in F1.

With a year of success in Formula Ford with a works Van Diemen behind him, the 18-year-old Welsh driver has been testing at the new F1 Sepang circuit in Malaysia. The Intersteps series will have several rounds at Pembrey, coming to the Carmarthenshire circuit in August.

West Wales 18-year-old Nick Cristofaro follows up his experience in the Ford FiestaSport Championship of last year with a shot at the Millers Oils 2012 BTRDA Rally Championship at the wheel of a Rallyschool.co.uk Ford Focus.

Cristofaro started in karts, taking a title in the Stars of Tomorrow series.

These three are going in the wheeltracks of Port Talbot Motor Club youngster Cameron Davies, who last year became the youngest driver in Britain to secure a works contract when he was signed up by Chevrolet to drive the Spark rally car in the Junior 1000 Rally Championship after his successes in his Nissan in the previous year despite being only 17.

In 2012 Davies continues his partnership with Chevrolet, driving the Spark in the British Rally Championship Challenge and several rounds of the BTRDA Championships.
