“Hear Hear! I remember meeting my mate at the bus stop to be told the snow had forced the cancellation of all busses - I think this was about 1963. We thought nothing of walking the five or six miles to school in about six inches of snow. We finally arrived at about mid day only to be met with everyone coming out - we had forgotten it was St Davis day and therefore a half day, so we turned around and walked back.”

“People in the USA & Europe must laugh their socks off at us, a few inches of snow & we're brought to a stop.
When did we become such wimps.
I recall in 1947 kids still went to school, trudging a couple of miles through deep snow, even though there was no heating due to no coal, simply keeping their hats, coats & gloves on
In 1962/3 we just drove on the snow, the biggest problem was finding petrol.”
