Llandovery College students celebrate record GCSE results
STAFF and pupils at Llandovery College are celebrating a record year, with A*s and As making up 36 per cent of all grades awarded.
The school's top three performers, Inez Dale-Jones, Jenna Mehdi and Jordi Den Hartog amassed a total of 30 A*s and As between them.
Guy Ayling, the college's head teacher, said: "Our pupils have once again shown what hard work and dedication can achieve at GCSE level.
"Top results are brought about by a combination of hard-working committed pupils and first-rate teaching and we are proud each and every one of them."
Meanwhile, staff at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman are once again delighted with the school's GCSE results.
There were several outstanding performers at the school and a sea of happy faces as pupils picked up their results.
Head teacher, Stephen Perks, said: "I would again pay tribute to the efforts of pupils and teachers together with the consistent support that we receive from parents."
Among the school's highest achievers were Victoria Moulson who had 10A* and one A, Elin Hopkins who had six A*s and four As, Jack Vaughan with six A*s and four As and Ffion Caines with six A*s and three As.
