Live wrestling heads for Lampeter in Ceredigion
A COMPANY of professional fighters is hoping to revive the body-slamming thrill of live wrestling in Lampeter.
The mock-fighting shows were a popular attraction in years gone by and now a new group has organised a one-night-only fight at Victoria Hall.
Organiser Alan Ravenhilll said the hard-hitting pantomime-style shows are aimed at children and families.
He added that he hoped Lampeter's students would get also behind the show.

"What we're also hoping is to get the students in on it. "When we do it in Cardiff, the students go nuts and give a great atmosphere," he said. Mr Ravenhill added that he only chanced upon Victoria Hall by accident and — impressed and on the spur of the moment — had booked the venue.
"I'd had a show in Aberystwyth and I was coming back through Lampeter. I took a wrong turning and I saw this hall," he said.
"The only hall I knew of in Lampeter was the concert hall at the university — and there was this lovely little hall. So, I stopped and went in to see them and booked it."
Wrestling is one of several events for the hall, which has seen a revival in its fortunes too, since being run by Transition Llambed.
