VOLUNTEER lifeguards plucked a man out of a river after his boat capsized.

The seafarer got into trouble 100 metres off the slipway on to the Loughor Estuary.

The nearby Loughor Inshore Rescue sprang into action, and quickly pulled the man to dry land.

Crew member, and ambulance technician Carl Matthews, 30, said: "We got the call at around 3pm after a boat capsized 100 metres off the lifeboat slipway.

"Both boat and occupant were successfully recovered to the boating club slipway, with the assistance of jet- ski users."
