VOLUNTEERS with Port Talbot's lifeboat service were in action at the weekend.

They were called out after a 20ft fishing boat with three people on board contacted the Coastguard to report engine failure.

Port Talbot RNLI spokesman Mel Cooper said: "The vessel was approximately two miles off Aberavon beach in a moderate choppy sea and was drifting.

"The lifeboat was soon on scene and a tow was established and the vessel was towed to its moorings in the River Afan.
