Licence pictures open up drivers to fraud
MOTORISTS posting pictures of their driving licences on social media sites are exposing themselves to identity fraud, it has been claimed.
The DVLA, based in Swansea, has warned motorists of the dangers after coming across an advert selling fake licences.
The scam involves taking images of genuine licences of social networking sites.
And as these documents feature a host of personal information it is enabling scam artists to commit fraud.
Motorists have been warned by the driving agency that they should avoid posting any personal information online.
Young excited drivers that have just received their full driving licences are most at risk, but all motorists need to ensure that they do not post any personal details on social media websites.
