SWANSEA Council leader Chris Holley boss has been asked whether he still believes the police are "not doing enough" to combat drug crime after officers seized £60,000 of heroin in the city.

Mr Holley's stance — as reported in the Evening Post — has been queried by the five Conservative councillors in Swansea.

But Mr Holley hit back and said he believed there was still work to be done.

He added: "Rather than try to score cheap political points the Conservative group should work with the council and the police to help rid our communities of drugs and their far reaching effects. I welcome the seizure of any drugs being taken off our streets, but there are major issues to address such as changing the criminal justice system so that people selling and distributing drugs receive prison sentences that reflect the public concern about the growing problem of the drug trade."
