STAFF at a special school in Swansea are going that extra mile to give their pupils a treat this year.

Fundraising is under way to send a group of youngsters from Pen-y-bryn in Morriston to Lapland next Christmas.

Among the events being planned for the coming months are a sponsored skydive, an auction night and a street collection in Swansea.

Staff and well-wishers need to raise around £15,000 to whisk the children off the Santa's home in December.
