Language group sit in minister's car
WELSH language campaigners managed to get into the car of Welsh Government Education Minister Leighton Andrews yesterday afternoon and refused to budge.
The police had to be called to the incident at the Mountain Gate centre in Tycroes, Ammanford, where a conference had been organised to discuss the future of the language.
Members of Cymdeithas yr Iaith acted on the spur of the moment and climbed into Mr Andrews's ministerial car.
Campaigner Ffred Ffransis said they wanted to stop the minister leaving before he had heard their point of view.

"There was no plan in advance to occupy his car," he said.
"He refused to speak to Cymdeithas yr Iaith so members decided to sit in his car so they could have a word with him before he left.
"When he agreed to listen, they let him have his car back, although by then the police had arrived and blocked him in."
Mr Andrews, who is responsible for the Welsh language, was attending the conference called Y Cynhadledd Fawr or The Big Conversation.

“Same comment I made when the story came out yesterday...
"What have they achieved apart from looking like idiots - hope the police can throw the book at them. SWEP put a full picture of them on the front page and name them all."
Interesting background on Ffred (did wonder if it was a typo at first - lol)...
