LANA Del Rey has thanked her fans for softening the blow of her bad reviews, by making her album number one in 11 countries.

The Born To Die singer's debut album has been panned by critics, calling it "dull, dreary" and a "staggering disappointment".

But 25-year-old Lana tweeted: "Thank you for making the record #1 in 11 countries. Your sweet words have softened the effect of even the harshest reviews. I adore you."
