Lady GaGa has insisted she isn't a sex symbol.

The rising star of the pop world - often snapped out and about in skimpy outfits - told the Daily Star she doesn't consider herself to be in Britney Spears' league.

"I'm not super-sexy," said the singer, whose No 1 hit Just Dance has taken the UK by storm.

"A girl's got to use what she's given and I'm not going to make a guy drool the way a Britney video does.

"So I take it to extremes. I don't say I dress sexily on stage - what I do is so extreme. It's meant to make guys think: 'I don't know if this is sexy or just weird'."

The 22-year-old New Yorker, who refuses to reveal her real name, said she loves expressing herself through fashion.

"The most I dress down is in a leotard - I was frustrated when your English paparazzi caught me dressed like that last week, it was as dowdy as I ever get," she said.
