Know what MP stands for
READING last week's editorial "A Hart Attack", and the article about Simon Hart accepting a donation from the ex-boss of African mercenaries, we, the undersigned, are not surprised by the nature of this disgraceful source.
Previous funding for Simon Hart's campaign came from equally unsavoury places. The donations of £40,000 by a New York hedge fund owned by an ex-hunt master of the Isle of Wight Hunt, other fox hunters' substantial cash injections, and the large amount from the discredited Lord Ashcroft — all these were legal, but morally unacceptable.
We did try to warn voters of this dubious cash support for a 'single issue' candidate, by raising awareness that his backers will demand action for their money by the repeal of the Hunting Act.
Now perhaps people will take heed of what Simon Hart stands for and demand a higher responsibility from their representative.
The one subject that joins all these together is killing for sport and we feel that the people in this constituency deserve better from their MP.
