Knights managing to hold off Nidum
WHITE Knights A remain a point clear at the top of division one of the West Wales Chess League.
But champions Nidum A are hot on the Llanelli side's heels with a game in hand.
They secured a 4.5-0.5 win away to bottom club Morriston B, with Gerry Heap, David Guy, Adam May and David Buttell all winning.
Ian Eustis saved the home side's blushes with a draw against Alan Young.

Nidum A also enjoyed a 4.5-0.5 win over White Knights C. Richard S Jones, Rob Saunders and Gareth Harley-Yeo all won with Chris Daniel holding Alan Bennett on board two.
Morriston A remain third after a hard-fought 2.5-2.5 with Nidum B. Chris Howells beat Bob Moore on board two, which was cancelled out with Mark Evans defeating Ian Eustis on board four.
All the other games were drawn between Ian Jones, Peter Bevan and Andrew Smith against Andrew Gibbons, Matthew Davies and Jeff Burrows.
White Knights B joined Morriston A in third after a comfortable 4-1 win over UK Falcons.
Bill Hewitt, Keith Downey and Nicholas Evans all won against Philippe Rodgers, Bill Flew and Clive Gosling.
G6 remain top of division two after an easy 4-1 win over Briton Ferry Brunel. Keith Thompson, Mark Jones, Mike Kearn and Anthony Baker all won.
Harry Lewis saved the whitewash with an excellent win over Wayne James on bottom board.
Woodman A moved second thanks to a 3.5-1.5 win over Castell Nedd Emperors. David Cleverly, Huw Jones and Gary Harber all won convincingly against Hywel Griffiths, Wayne Prescott and Angharad Jenkins.
Martyn Griffiths pulled a point back for the away side over Peter Smith, while the board three encounter was drawn between Gareth Thomas and Steve Smith.
Upper Killay Merlins moved into third by crushing Woodman B 5-0.
Daniel Wilmot, Sietse Los, Steve Edwards, Eva Los and Bill Flew were all successful.
Briton Ferry Giants remain top of division three after a 3.5-1.5 win over Morriston C.
Andrew Trickey, Ken Wardle and Chris Simmons secured the points by winning on the bottom boards.
Albert Easton pulled a point back with a win over Robert Wood and the top board game between Paul Scott and Damon Davies was drawn.
In the u1500 KO Cup, White Knights defeated Upper Killay 3-1. Guto Llywelyn, James Evans and Mike Richards all won, with Conor Hunt providing a full point on bottom board for the home side over Tomos Evans.
